Traffic accidents are among the most costly events in the lives of Americans, in terms of property loss, personal injury and death. As researchers and consultants, we have investigated the role of traffic signs, lane markers, lighting, conspicuity issues, vehicle design, child restraint seat design and functioning and weather conditions on the prevention and analysis of traffic accidents. We also have expertise on special problems for elderly drivers, teenage drivers, and drivers from Non-North American cultures. We have carried out work on the problems of shared environments involving motor vehicles and pedestrians. We have testified as experts throughout North America.

Slips, trips and falls can plague the young, the old, people at work and those staying at home. For more than 25 years we have actively investigated the causes of injuries and deaths resulting from slips, trips and falls, as well as implemented environmental changes to prevent these incidents. For example, our research team developed a very effective and user-friendly padded garment currently used in hospitals for the aged to prevent hip fractures. As experts we are qualified to comment on a variety of issues surrounding slips, trips and falls including lighting problems, deficiencies in signage and warnings, types of flooring, transitions between flooring types, deficiencies in stair design, the impact of cognitive deficiencies and drug use, and problems for special populations such as children and the elderly.
